Blog Bog

I thought it was just me, but a quick perusal of other blogs I used to frequent, and I discovered their authors are posting as infrequently as me. Rotator-cuff tendinitis kept me away from the computer for over a year. That is slowly improving, and with it, the amount of time I can put in, which frankly I devote to writing. And not for the blog.

I believe other authors are posting less frequently for similarly different reasons, all related to time.

Day jobs, families, friends, deadlines...these other very important interests require dedication as well. And there is only so much time in the day. And fascinating subjects to explore. The same is true for readers.

Their time is equally important; I want to post subjects of interest and value to them, so I ask:

What do you want to learn, know more about? The writing process? Personal foibles and triumphs? Things of historic interest related to my novels, like a recipe for buttermilk biscuits, or description of an average day in the life of early twentieth-century ranch wife?

Please share in the comments what you like to read, and why, and I'll do my best to provide content that will keep you coming back for more.

D.

Ugh. I feel for you on the rotator cuff tendinitis. I had that a few years ago, and it took the better part of a year to clear up. Hope you're all better, or at least close to it!

It's not just you, believe me. Life gets in the way sometimes. Glad to hear you're feeling better, though!

As for the blog, I'd love to read a mix of your life adventures and historical snippets related to your books. Maybe a once a week historical post?

Have a great holiday! :)

Hi Linda, Lara...

Yes, it's been over a year, and I'm finally starting to see improvement. I still have to be careful, but I am able to develop a bit of a routine now. Feels good!

Lara...Life does get in the way. And I am so glad to be on the mend. Thank you for your input...now I have to start working my blog muscle the way I've worked and rehabilitated my shoulders. *g*

How's the new job?

Oh my gosh, I LOVE it (even though it did keep me from Surrey this year :)) Not to say I'm not exhausted and glad to be on winter break, but it's such a wonderful thing to not dread going to work every day.

How's your housing situation? When are you moving?

Housing situation is in a holding pattern; waiting for the right buyer to swoop in and free us to fly to our new destination. :)

I am so glad to know you love your new job; when you spend 40 hrs a week at something, the best thing for physical/mental health is to enjoy it. :)

Did you get yourself a caped heating pad yet? *g*
